...And get paid for it.
Just ask Kimberly Calliari whose story was featured Wednesday morning on ABC's Good Morning America regarding her weight loss challenge with HealthyWage.com, an American healthcare company that offers health incentive programs and contests.
In January 2010, the company was noted as the first in the United States to offer free health incentives directly to consumers.
So how does this program work?
By signing up for challenges on HealthyWage.com, dieters wager their own money towards their weight loss goals and in the end...receives a big fat check for shedding off the pounds.
With programs like the 10% Challenge, 10K Team Challenge and BMI challenge there's something for everyone.
In the case of Kimberly Calliari's, she signed up for two challenges with a wager of $300. She lost 51 lbs. and won $1200!
Other healthcare websites to offer cash incentives include DietBet.com, Sticck.com and GymPact (gym-pact.com), an IPhone/Android app. And according to a study by the Journal of the American Medical Association, programs that offer financial incentives found dieters more likely to reach their goals than those with no money at stake.
